Alex is a seasoned attorney with experience in complex business and real estate transactions. He received his law degree from Harvard and his M.B.A. from the prestigious international business school, INSEAD, studying in France and Singapore. He is a native of Southern California, who is able to provide his clients with sophisticated counsel, as well as an insider’s perspective on Los Angeles real estate. Alex was a member of the Harvard Boxing Club and La Alianza while at Harvard.
After graduating from law school, Alex joined the transactions practice in the Los Angeles office of the international law firm, O’Melveny & Myers, where he represented a broad range of fortune 500 clients in complex negotiations and transactions in real estate and mergers & acquisitions. At O’Melveny,Alex’s real estate experience included working with large retail developer Macerich, in connection with its US $1.5 billion in senior revolving credit facilities and US $125 million term facilities. His legal practice also included finance, securitizations, leveraged buy outs, strategic/joint ventures, and operating contract negotiations. Alex then went on to work with the real estate group at the international law firm, Sidley & Austin, LLP on large real estate development and finance transactions focused in Latin America. He represented buyers and sellers utilizing complex mortgage backed loans and mortgage financing in connection with equity investment for multi-use developments.
Alex’s dedication to his career is balanced by his passion for adventure and helping others. After a 7-day mountaineering trip to the top of Mt. Whitney,Alex caught the eye of CBS talent recruiters and he was asked to participate on the television show, Survivor Fiji. Alex was eliminated 33 days into the 39-day competition. He then travelled the world, sharing his journey on college and high school campuses to motivate students to achieve their goals. Alex is a co-founder of PrepInteractive, LLC, an education platform leveraging technology to help increase performance across all demographics.
Alex has since joined his long-time colleagues at the Oppenheim Group, where his legal and business background, alongside his passion for helping others and his native familiarity with Southern California real estate make him a valuable asset to his clients.
Alex’s interests include martial arts, which he has practiced for 20 years. He is a brown belt under the legendary, Guru Dan Inosanto, training in Marina Del Rey.
Alex speaks Spanish fluently and French at a conversational level. He has been a spokesperson for dozens of international advertising campaigns.
